I felt that I needed to depict the current climate and how our everyday lives have dramatically changed, with a visual representation of the uncertain and precarious times we are experiencing, whilst we strive to attain some normality. The woman in the illustration is embarking upon her first evening out, subsequent to months of isolation. Her eyes express a myriad of emotions consequential to this event, which can be elicited as trepidation, excitement, anxiety, uncertainty, bewilderment. I added my “Star Turn” character to her mask, as she tries to accessorise it as a fashion item, in an attempt to less emphasize it’s purpose.
